Gavyn....The Incredible!

Grandpa Smith taught Gavyn some magic tricks a couple weeks ago. Gavyn was amazed the first time my dad did it. It was hilarious. Grandpa has since taught Gavyn the tricks and he is always wanting to show us how good he is. His tricks are:

1. Fingers disappear and reappear when his fists are hit together.
2. His interlocked fingers magically separate and them become locked together again.

Isn't he amazing! My favorite part is his putting it to music.

Bear Lake 2009

Every year my family goes to Bear Lake for a week. We camp out in tents during the night and swim at the beach all day long. It is a blast and is something my boys have come to love and look forward to every year.

My brother's Ashley and Jason build something out of sand every year. This year Ashley build a car. It is funny because strangers from all over the beach will come over and ask to get their picture taken in front of it. He has done this for the past ten years.

Here is Ashley posing inside his creation.

Of course, the kids all loved it. Here are Bryce and Rachael.

We had a hard time getting Gavyn to get back out. He thought it was great!
Cayden pretending to drive around on the beach.

Even Abigail joined in the fun. This is the side of the car where the kids were allowed to get in and out. You can see that it was breaking down on this side.

And then my cousins got together and we all made a sign for the car.

Here is what we came up with. I don't know....would you buy it?

Here is Bryce being chased by Uncle Jason. My boys sure do love their Uncle. He is so much fun.

The boys brought their baseball gear and I think they spent at least a couple hours a day playing baseball on the beach.

This was Bryce's favorite beach toy. He surfed the water with it for hours and he got pretty good at it too.

Gavyn and Bryce impressed with their baseball skills.

Here is Curtis enjoying a boat ride.

Gavyn fell asleep within a couple of minutes.

Daddy carrying Bryce to shore while Grandpa carried Gavyn in.

Cayden LOVES the jet skis. Curtis took him out about a dozen times a day and Cayden just could not get enough.
Bryce on the other hand is not much of a jet ski fan. We only got him to go out once all week and he would only ride with Grandpa.

I think the water might have been a little bit cold from the look on his face!

And here is Gavyn and Grandpa coming in on the jet ski.

We even got Pappy to go out. A couple of years ago Nana and Pappy tried to both get on the same jet ski and the were dumped off. I think this is the first time since then that Pappy has gotten on. Nana is still not ready....but we will keep working on her.

Here is Grandpa and Gavyn. I think the poor little man was pretty exhausted. This was the night we set up a projector and screen and watched movies with the kids.

Uncle Tyler even got Abigail out on the tube. She loved it!

At the end of every day Grandpa and Gavyn rode the beach together to the docks where I would meet them with the trailor. Gavyn sure does love his Grandpa.

His poor little face looks worn. No wonder they sleep so good at night in a tent.

We only had one storm all week long and it lasted for about two hours. They kids got a little scared of the thunder and lightening so where did they go for protection.....under a metal table.
Here are the boys at the camp fire on the final night. We all get together the last night of the trip and have a big bonfire while each family puts on a program. We eat smores and sing songs and listen to stories. This is by far my favorite part of the trip.

Watching the bonfire start up.

Gavyn decided to teach everyone his favorite dance move....the sprinkler. He was so cute. The older boys sure got a kick out of him. They all went up together and let Gavyn teach them his move.

And here was our path to our sleeping quarters every night.

Our tent is AWESOME!

I love going to Bear Lake every year. We started doing this as a family when I was in middle school. I love that we have been able to carry this tradition of for our kids and that they love it as much as I do. And since it took me so long to post these pictures...it is only six more months until we get to go again! YAY!
